Montelle Taméz is a seasoned public health professional specializing in health equity, community engagement, community based participatory research and communications. Ms. Taméz has more than 20 years of experience addressing health disparities and the social determinants of health through public health program development, implementation and management, health education and promotion, community engagement and community engaged research. Her career spans multiple sectors, including community-based non-profit organizations, state and local public health, and academic research institutions. Ms. Taméz serves as a co-investigator on multiple federally-funded research grants and sponsored projects and has co-authored peer reviewed publications on community-engagement and community engaged research methods. In addition, Ms. Tamez has extensive grants management and grant making experience, including developing and managing innovative, participatory grant programs. Ms. Taméz is a principal with the Otowi Group, LLC where she acts as the Communications, Equity and Engagement Specialist. Ms. Taméz also serves as the Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Research at the University of Colorado’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.
