Maura L. Proser, DrPH, MPH

Maura Proser, Senior Consultant Partner

I am an experienced public health leader, strategic thinker, policy analyst, and epidemiologist and evaluator with nearly 20 years of public health work experience (boots-on-the-ground and management) in state and local governmental public health agencies. My public health passions include data justice, equitable public policy, workforce development, and strong evaluation. My specialty is communicating and presenting public health data to lay audiences to make them understandable and actionable through an equity lens. I also bring more than a decade of grant writing experience; in addition to the actual writing, I enjoy supporting agencies in building out proposals, logic models, and evaluation plans.

I am a natural collaborator and do my best work in team settings. My personal and professional values include authenticity, collaboration, equity, integrity, and kindness. I love teaching and sharing knowledge. This includes professional development training and formal instruction. I am an adjunct faculty member with Metropolitan State University of Denver Department of Social Work where I teach research methods and program evaluation.

Prior to consulting, I spent 14 years doing and managing community-based primary prevention work for Tri-County Health Department, formerly Colorado’s largest local public health agency. I earned my MPH in Community Health Education from the University of Maryland and my DrPH in Epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health. In addition to public health, my passions include the Baltimore Orioles and I Love Lucy. When I’m not working, I’m most often reading novels or baking.
